Why is the UUWF Hosting a SACReD Reproductive Justice Cohort?
At UUWF, our unwavering commitment to gender liberation and reproductive justice drives our work today and shapes our vision for a more just and joyful future. We know that faith, racism, and reproductive justice are deeply intertwined, shaping the lived experiences of so many in our communities.
That’s why we’re excited to bring a SACReD Reproductive Justice Cohort to our members. This seven-session training is designed to deepen our understanding of these connections and equip us with the tools to take meaningful action—both within our faith spaces and in the larger fight for liberation.
The mission of SACReD (the Spiritual Alliance of Communities for Reproductive Dignity) is to empower congregations to become loving, justice-seeking faith communities that fully support the fulfillment of reproductive moral agency and flourishing for all. The SACReD curriculum is a seven-part workshop series that aims to deepen our individual and collective understanding of the connection between faith, racism, and reproductive ethics, and to identify strategies and actions for liberation within religious communities and the larger world. Learn more about them here.
Faith communities have always been central to movements for justice. As Unitarian Universalists, we believe in boldly affirming reproductive moral agency and liberation for all. Through this cohort, we are building a stronger foundation for justice-seeking congregations that can take action in meaningful ways.
Join us as we engage in transformative conversations, learn from one another, and recommit to our shared vision of justice.
Open to UUWF members only.
